Have you ever noticed how the very last minute on a treadmill can feel like a thousand years?
I can spend an entire hour running, climbing, and giving that workout everything I have. But the moment I reach that 59th minute, something happens.
Suddenly, I am thinking, "I am done! I cannot possibly go another minute!"
And then I remind myself...
I have already made it through 59 minutes. Why in the world would I give up when I am just one minute away from reaching my goal?
And isn't life a whole lot like that?
We work hard. We show up. We put in the effort. We navigate the ups, downs, twists, and turns. Yet sometimes, just when we might be closer than ever to a breakthrough, we feel like throwing in the towel.
But here is something I have learned along the way...
Just because you are tired does not mean you are finished. And just because progress feels slow does not mean it is not happening.
When I think back to where I started on that treadmill compared to where I am today, I realize just how much progress I have made.
It did not happen overnight.
It happened one step at a time. One workout at a time. One little victory at a time.
And isn't that how so much of life unfolds?
We learn. We grow. We stumble. We adjust. We try again. We chase dreams, discover new strengths, and sometimes surprise ourselves with what we are capable of accomplishing.
Then one day, we look back and think, "Holy moly! Look how far I have come!"
I believe there is something beautiful about the journey itself. Life is not just about reaching the finish line. It is about who we become along the way.
The lessons we learn, the courage we discover, the strength we build, and even those moments when we have to give ourselves a little pep talk to keep going.
And here is another thought...
Sometimes we need to rest, and that is perfectly okay. Resting is not the same as giving up. We can catch our breath, adjust our pace, and still keep moving toward what matters to us.
So, whatever your personal "59th minute" looks like today, I hope you will remember how far you have already come.
Celebrate those small victories. Appreciate your progress. Give yourself grace through the challenges, and do not underestimate what one more step might lead to.
Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep showing up for yourself.
You never know what beautiful opportunities might be waiting just around the corner.
And who knows? Maybe that very next step will be the one that makes you realize just how strong you have become.
Now, if you will excuse me, I have one more minute on that treadmill!
Until next time...
Be kind to yourself and Be Your Own Kind Of FabYOUlous 💐🙏🦋
