Keep Feeding Your Dream.

Keep Feeding Your Dream.

👋🤩 Hello, FabYOUlous!

If you've read some of my previous blogs, you probably already know how much I love our backyard. The trees. The flowers. The squirrels. The birds.

All the little creatures that wander into the peaceful oasis we've tried to create.

And one tiny visitor recently gave me something to think about.

A hummingbird.

We've had a hummingbird feeder hanging beside our trumpet vine for quite a while. I've watched. I've waited. I've seen hummingbirds visit the beautiful flowers on the trumpet vine... But that feeder? Nothing.

At least nothing that I had seen.

And then... FINALLY!!! After months of having that feeder hanging there, I looked over and saw the sweetest little hummingbird drinking from it. Of course, I immediately had to grab a picture. Lol!

Now, it's entirely possible that hummingbirds have been visiting that feeder for weeks or even months while I wasn't looking. Maybe this little one had been there many times before. Or maybe it took some time to discover that the feeder was there and realize what it had to offer. I'll never know.

But as I sat there looking at that tiny hummingbird, I started thinking, Isn't that a lot like our dreams?

We have an idea. A goal. A hope. Something we feel called to create or accomplish. So we start feeding it. We give it our time. Our energy. Our creativity. Our patience. Our heart. And then, we wait.

Sometimes we work and work and work and it feels like nothing is happening.

No hummingbird. No big moment. No obvious sign saying: “LOOK! ALL YOUR HARD WORK IS PAYING OFF!”

And that's when it can be tempting to stop filling the feeder. To wonder whether we're wasting our time. To question whether anyone notices. To think maybe the dream simply isn't going to work.

But what if something is happening? What if we simply haven't seen it yet?

That little hummingbird reminded me that lack of visible results doesn't always mean lack of progress.

Sometimes things are happening when we're not watching. Sometimes roots are growing before flowers ever appear. Sometimes people are noticing even when they aren't saying anything. Sometimes we're learning, growing, and becoming more prepared for the very thing we're working toward.

And sometimes...the hummingbird just hasn't found the feeder yet. Lol!

So keep filling it. Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep creating. Keep nurturing that little dream.

Keep believing in what you're building.

Because you may not always get immediate proof that your efforts matter. But that doesn't mean they don't.

And when that little moment finally arrives, when you get the customer, finish the project, reach the goal, receive the message, see the progress... Or simply realize, “Oh my goodness... something IS happening.”

Take a moment and enjoy it.

Celebrate that hummingbird.

Because sometimes the smallest signs are the sweetest reminders to Keep going.

Whatever you want to grow in your life, Feed it. Feed your dreams with effort. Feed your relationships with love. Feed your mind with encouragement. Feed your peace with things that restore you. Feed your confidence with kindness toward yourself. Feed your aspirations with consistency.

And remember, not everything we're growing gives us immediate evidence that it's working. Sometimes we simply have to keep showing up. Keep filling the feeder. And trust that one day, we may look over and see the beautiful little reminder we've been waiting for.

Keep feeding your dream.

Until next time...

Be kind to yourself and Be Your Own Kind Of FabYOUlous 💐🙏🦋
