Can I ask you a question?
Am I the only one who genuinely LOVES a good staycation?!
Don't get me wrong... there are so many beautiful places to see and adventures to experience! But as I've gotten older, I've realized something about myself...
I truly love being home.
And not because I'm boring! 😂
I think it's because I've intentionally tried to create a home that feels comfy, cozy, safe, peaceful, and relaxing.
A place where I can exhale.
A place where I can be completely myself.
A place where there is no schedule, no rushing, no packing a suitcase... and definitely no wondering if I remembered my phone charger halfway down the road. 😂🤷♀️
To me, there is something so special about creating a home that you don't constantly feel the need to get away from.
Sitting outside and enjoying the sunshine, watching the trees move in the breeze, watching and hearing the birds chirp, sipping your favorite drink, playing music that makes you happy, wearing something comfy and cute... because we can still be fabulous at home! 😉💜
Maybe it's grilling dinner, working in the yard, coloring, watching a movie, taking an afternoon nap, or doing absolutely nothing at all.
And can we normalize doing nothing sometimes?!
We live in a world that can make us feel like we always need to be going somewhere, doing something, or planning the next big adventure.
But what if our little slice of peace is right where we are?
For me, home is more than walls and furniture.
It's a feeling. 💜
I've tried to create a space that feels warm, welcoming, and safe. A place that allows me to relax and enjoy the simple moments in life.
Does that mean I never want to travel or experience new places? Of course not!
But I also don't feel like I have to leave home to feel like I'm taking a break.
Sometimes my perfect summer getaway looks a whole lot like...
Staying right here at home.
So I'm curious...
